Josh and Christi Straub want to help Christian parents introduce their kids to the story of Jesus Christ's life, death, and resurrection in age-appropriate ways. Exposing young children to the gruesome details of Jesus' execution is challenging, leading many parents to quickly fast-forward to the joy of Resurrection Sunday. As parents, our temptation is to shield our kids from hard emotions like anger, sadness, and shame. And yet, kids will experience those emotions – just like Jesus' disciples did.
On this Focus on the Family broadcast, the Straubs explore the different emotions that first century people experienced during Holy Week and equip parents to discuss with and teach their kids how to process those same kinds of emotions. The Straubs also explain how to navigate the true story of Easter amidst the cultural traditions of chocolate, colored eggs, and the Easter Bunny.
