Disciplining Your Kids With Grace

On this Focus on the Family broadcast, author Karis Kimmel Murray offers parents advice for effectively handling their kids' misbehavior in a discussion based on her book Grace Based Discipline: How to Be at Your Best When Your Kids Are at Their Worst. She encourages parents to remain calm in the midst of misbehavior, to discern the reason behind the behavior, and to employ what she calls a "sushi menu" of discipline tactics. Listen in as she explains these tactics which include "tagging" bad behavior, putting things in a "basket," and teaching the behavior you want to see in your child. Karis also offers insights into children's "currency" and age-appropriate consequences.
