As a mom of three adopted children – two with Down Syndrome and one of a different race – Heather Avis knows firsthand what it’s like to feel uncomfortable. Parenting is a daily process of getting our of her comfort zone and helping her needy children. Such experiences have prompted her to encourage the church to do the same: scoot over and make some room.
