The Diary of a Grieving Mother

Statistically one in every hundred children born full term are stillborn. Yet, I never in my wildest dreams thought it could happen with my very own child. Losing my daughter was possibly the hardest thing I’ve ever experienced in life. It challenged every aspect of my life. Would my marriage still thrive? Would we have more children? Would our son still feel loved in the mess of our grief? How am I supposed to get out of bed every day and face my family and friends with this gaping hole in my heart? Our whole community was watching us as we tried our best to honor God in one of the ugliest times in our life. Truthfully, I did not know how I could possibly move forward. But, with God, all things are possible.

I invite you to read my experiences with grief in the two and a half years following the loss of my sweet Kate. My prayer is that wherever you are in your grief, you know that you are not alone.
