Equipping Christians to Understand Sexuality

Modern society is overwhelmed by sexual brokenness, gender issues, abuse and addiction. While conversations on these issues are happening in the church, they are often notably missing among Christians. Dr. Juli Slattery believes the Christian community has been either judgmental or silent about the topics of sexuality for far too long. Christians may have a list of sexual do’s and don’ts, but we really don’t understand God’s design for our sexuality. She believes Christians have been “discipled” by the sexual norms of today’s culture; a growing number of Christians are supportive of cohabitation, premarital sex, gender fluidity, and same-sex marriage. Dr. Slattery urges Christians to study God’s design for sex and recognize their own forms of sexual brokenness, so that we may more authentically connect with non-believers who are dealing with the consequences of their sexual immorality.
