I am a huge fan of the Father Gilbert Mysteries. I have every radio theatre Father Gilbert Mystery there is. I wish there were many more of these. My brother and I listen to these and other Focus on the Family Radio Dramas when traveling on the road together.
For anyone who has never heard these radio theatre productions, I would describe Father Gilbert Mysteries as supernatural thrillers written from a Christian worldview. Though not all of the stories have supernatural elements. They all have solid biblical answers and comments from the main character who just happens to be a vicar (ie priest) that used to be a police detective. His experience and knack for solving mysteries is combined with his experience and training as a spiritual authority. Some of the characters surrounding him in the story have dialog, viewpoints, questions, and comments of people from various degrees of spiritual development. Often these characters question the Father's faith and challenge him to explain things that ought to be more talked about in the church. These stories do not shy away from spiritual phenomenon and supernatural experiences, but they treat them very diplomatically showing various takes on them with the main character providing biblical explanations that are satisfying to the listener. Things like visions, evil spirits, ghosts, near-death experiences, true and false healers, etc.
I pray that Focus on the Family would make more of these radio dramas.

First, I must say part of this review will require me to say "SPOILER ALERT"!!!
I can not tell you how many times I have listen to Father Gilbert. Once you listen to all of the episodes, you feel like you have made life long friends... Father Gilbert, Mrs. Mahew, Bill Drake, Mr. Erqhart. The programs are both interesting, and have a lesson to learn. That is why I can't listen to the end of episode 10 without weeping. It's like I am saying goodbye to a dear friend... forever.
This is why I would polietly ask for at least one more episode. How long does he stay at the monastery? Whatever happens to KP? Does he ever meet CP? Even if you can't do a radio program, perhaps a sequel?
Thank you for your consideration.

I wish you would produce more Father Gilbert Mysteries. They excel as discussion starters for teenagers. The themes are significant and relevant to the struggles facing young people today. Are more in the works?

We have all these stories separately and have enjoyed listening to them on many a road trip. We laugh, we cry, and we sometimes jump in our seats. It is great to have them all together in one package.
